Today Gena and I are celebrating the faithfulness of God. May 16th is Zayne’s 5th birthday! After one miscarriage and seven frustrating years of trying to conceive we finally gave birth to our first child in 2007. We serve a great God who always hears our prayers and blesses us more than we can imagine. He doesn’t always operate off of our timetable, but he is always faithful and always good.
Don’t give up on your dreams. Remember the goodness of our God.

Last Sunday was a great day at The Edge Church as we celebrated Mother’s Day and I taught on Developing Spiritual Champions. Each week our team of leaders works hard to make sure that we are teaching the powerful truths of the Bible in creative and challenging ways. Solomon wrote, “Unless the Lord builds the house the builders labor in vain.” To illustrate “parenting in vain” I blew bubbles from the stage. There are few things less meaningfull than blowing bubbles. They are cool for a while, but in the end it amounts to nothing. When we attempt to build a home without God as the foundation it is all vanity. You’re just blowing bubbles. If our kids think that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are a boy band, then we are parents that are just blowing bubbles. If we are not teaching our kids about Jesus we are just blowing bubbles.
Psalm 127:4 also tells us that children are like arrows. Arrows have to be shaped and aimed before they can be effective. To futhter illustrate this point I used a Fisher Price bow and arrow to shoot an apple off of our church member’s head. After a week of practice I still missed at both services. (I hope I’m a better dad than I am archer). In a similar fashion parents are to aim their kids towards Jesus Christ through discipline, encouragement, and instruction.
Why do we use bow and arrows and bubbles? Creativity helps people relate the Bible to everyday life. It also helps people remember the biblical teaching. At The Edge Church we don’t use bubbles and arrows to just be cute. We do so in order further teach the scripture.
Dear Edge Church Family,
I’m really excited about Easter Sunday coming up on April 8. On this special Sunday I will begin a brand new message series called “Plan B: What do you do when God doesn’t show up the way you thought He would.” I hope you will invite everyone you know to attend The Edge on this Sunday. We will have three identical worship services on Easter Sunday at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. Easter Sunday will be the biggest Sunday ever at The Edge Church, so you will want to show up at least 10 minutes early. Here are four things you can do to help The Edge prepare for Easter this year.
1) Bring your friends. 8 out of 10 people will accept an invitation to church on Easter Sunday. You have the opportunity to be a special part of changing someone’s life by inviting them to church.
2) Serve on a volunteer team. We have many opportunities to serve with Edge Kids, Production, First Impressions, and Hospitality. We are asking everyone to “Serve 1/Attend 1” this Easter. If you’re not currently on a volunteer team, you can email Trista Weinmaster at trista@edgecommunity.net to sign up.
3) Save the best spots for our guests. I want to encourage you and your family to attend the 8:30 service on Easter to make more room for our guests at 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Please park in the bottom parking lot so our guests can park in the top lot in the spots closest to the front doors. Also, please sit as close to the front as possible so that we can reserve the seats in the back for late comers.
4) Pray for God to do something great. As you know, prayer moves the hand that moves the world. Join Gena and I as we pray passionately for the Lord to do a special work in the lives of our attenders. We have sent out more than 50,000 flyers inviting people to attend our services.
Thank you for walking along side of me in God’s work at The Edge Church. Get ready for God to do an amazing work this Easter Sunday. I look forward to seeing you there!
Blessings,
Pastor Ryan
The Denver Examiner posted an article about The Edge Church. Check out what people in Colorado are saying about us.
Last Sunday was a record setting day at The Edge Church. With 355 people attending our services, seven committing their lives to Christ, and two baptisms, last Sunday was our largest non-Easter attendance. Yeah God!
God has truly blessed us over the past few months and I am so excited to see our church continue to grow. Just fifteen months ago we were struggling to average 100 people each week. Church leaders across the country are asking me questions like, “Why are you growing so much?” I am sure there are many reasons The Edge Church is continuing to advance but one of the biggest is our great team of leaders. Our team works hard, loves God and people, and gets things done like no other church I have seen. If you are a volunteer at The Edge, reach up and pat yourself on the back because you are doing a great job. I am so thankful for you. I can’t wait to see you on Sunday as we see more lives changed.
Testimonies are one of the most powerful things. I love how The Edge Church uses the homepage and their stories page to highlight testimonies from their church members. - ChurchRelevance.com
This week we discovered our Edge Church website was recognized by churchrelevance.com as one of the top 22 church websites in the world. One of the greatest reasons our site has such great relevance is because of the life changing stories featured on our home page. Our church members share their stories of how Christ changed their life through The Edge Church. We are so honored to be listed along side churches like Life Church, Fellowship Church, The City Church, Hillsong London and many others. If you have not had a chance check out all of the features and stories on our site go to www.edgechurchaurora.com. You can also view our site at www.churchrelevance.com.
House of Blues
I am really pumped to kick-off a brand new teaching series this Sunday called “House of Blues.” Earlier this week we sent out 35,000 postcards inviting our entire city to join us for this powerful series. I love teaching on topics like regret, depression, stress and loneliness because in our darkest moments God can do some of the greatest things in our lives. I hope you will join us this weekend at 9:30 and 11:00. Come ready to be blessed, inspired and liberated from your blues.
